Despite the widespread use of music streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music, many of us still download songs into our phones. Well, who wouldn’t want free music, right? Even if there are no WIFI and mobile data, we can still enjoy our favorite tracks anytime.

While having collected a lot of songs seems great, it’s a bit of a hassle if you’re moving them from an Android phone to an iPhone. Both devices don’t share the same ecosystem, which means that transferring your music files directly via Bluetooth won’t do. But despite that, we’ve found two legit ways to transfer music from Android to iPhone. Check them out!

Method 1: Transfer Music from Android to iPhone via iTunes/Finder

Android music files can easily be accessed and transferred to an iPhone on a Windows PC/Mac. This method is divided into two ways. The first one is with a Windows PC using iTunes, while the second one is with Mac using the built-in Finder app.  Aside from that, you also need two USB cables for both phones.

1. Transfer Music from Android to iPhone on Windows (iTunes)

Step 1

Attach your Android phone to the PC. Typically, you need to allow USB debugging or USB Transfer to let the computer read the device. To do this, just scroll down from the phone’s notification bar and tap on USB Settings. After that, launch Windows File Explorer.

Step 2

Under This PC, click on your device and proceed to your music folder. Right-click on it and select Copy. Go to Desktop and Paste the folder there.

Step 3

Download and install iTunes on your PC. Launch it and connect your iPhone to the PC afterward. Then, follow these steps:

  • Click on the iPhone icon.  Stay in Summary and tick “Manually manage music and videos”.  Then, apply changes.
  • Next, proceed to File and select “Add File to Library”. Then, choose the music folder you copied and Add all of the songs to your iTunes library. After that, click on the Music icon.
  • Lastly, hit Music under the iPhone tab and select Sync Music. Then, click the Apply button to start the transfer. Once complete all the music from your Android will be available on your iPhone.

2. Transfer Music from Android to iPhone on Mac (Finder)

Step 1

Do the same connection steps as on the iTunes method. Then, proceed to your Mac and install Android File Transfer. Launch the app and select Music.

Step 2

Open Finder and select the Songs or Music tab. The name varies depending on your MacOS version. Then, drag the songs in the folder to the Music/Songs section.

Step 3

Go back to Finder and click on Music. There, you have two options: Sync Entire music library or Sync Selected artists, albums, genres, and playlists. Tick the one you prefer and click Apply to finalize the transfer.

iTunes/Finder May Cause Data Loss

The steps above involve overwriting existing music data on your iPhone. This means that the process could result in music loss, as new data replaces the songs you’ve saved before. Not to mention, they take a lot of time considering that you have to manually locate and transfer the music files.
