You might have noticed the Forgot Password feature on the screen after entering the wrong password multiple times. This is a part of your phone’s security measures, if ever you can’t remember the password, you can use it to bypass the screen lock.

To use this feature, an active Google account should be connected to the phone and you should know all the account credentials. On Motorola, this option is only available for phones running on Android version 4.4 and below like the Moto G, E, and X. So, if you have a brand new like the Edge series, this perhaps is not helpful.

Step 1

On your Motorola phone, type in the wrong PIN/pattern multiple times until you see the Forget Password/Pattern option.

Step 2

Click on it and then you’ll see a pop-out message stating that you’ll need to answer some security questions. Hit Next to proceed. From there you will see two options:

Answer Security Questions – You will have to answer some security questions you already answered. (Should be enabled beforehand)

Enter Google Account Details – Enter the credentials on the Google account that is currently logged in on your Motorola phone.

Step 3

Choose an option and provide the correct details. After that, you will be asked to reset the password and your Motorola phone should be unlocked.

If you think this is not helpful because you haven’t heard about it and never turned it on, don’t worry, this will automatically turn on once you
connect your account to your phone.

Step 1

On another device access the Find My Device page.

Step 2

Log in with the account used on your Motorola phone. From there you can see 3 options, Play Sound, Secure Device, and Erase Device.
