In order to remember a memorable event, we always make sure to take photos using our iPhones. And although iPhones have large storage spaces, they will eventually run out if we keep storing photos and other files.
To avoid losing our photos and create space on our iPhones, most of us plan to transfer photos from iPhone to MacBook or Mac. Both devices have larger space compared to the iPhone and it’s much easier to edit and use the pictures on projects if they are on our computer.
In this article, we listed some methods on how to transfer photos to MacBook from iPhone. Check them out.
Method 1: Transfer Photos from iPhone to Mac via AirDrop
One of the easiest ways to transfer files and photos from iPhone to Mac is AirDrop. This method is pretty straightforward and does not require any account. You just need to make sure that the feature is enabled properly on both devices and you’re good to go.
However, we don’t recommend using this method for transferring bulk items. It may take a while and there’s a chance that the quality of your images will be affected.
Enable AirDrop on your Mac by going to Finder > Go > AirDrop. Then set the discoverability to Everyone.
On your iPhone, locate and select the images you want to transfer and hit the Share icon. Choose AirDrop and proceed to turn on the feature.
After that, you should see your Mac on AirDrop from your iPhone. To begin the transfer, simply tap the Mac icon.
Wait for the process to finish and check your images.
Method 2: Transfer Photos from iPhone to MacBook via Photos
For transferring bulk photos, you can use the Photos app on your Mac/MacBook. This will directly transfer videos and images from your iPhone to the Photos app on your Mac.
To use this method, you need to prepare a USB lightning cable.
Grab the USB cord, and connect your iPhone to your Mac.
On your iPhone, you will see the “Trust This Computer” notification, tap Trust to continue. Then launch the Photos app.
On the sidebar, click your iPhone after that you will see all the images stored on the device.
Pick the ones you want to move and tick Import Selected. After the transfer, you will see the newly imported photos on your Photos app.
