Having our iPhone contacts on our Mac makes it easier to reach out our clients and see details about our colleagues. It also serves as a backup if in any case you accidentally deleted them or you’re planning on doing a Factory Reset.
You may be planning on syncing your iPhone to your Mac, but you don’t know how to get started. Well, I’ve been in a similar situation before and I found some ways to sync contacts from iPhone to Mac. Continue reading!
Method 1: Sync Contacts from iPhone to Mac via iCloud
If you wish to sync all your contacts, we recommend using iCloud. This feature can copy contacts from iPhone to Mac. All you need to do is turn on iCloud on your iPhone, let data sync, and access them on your Mac.
But, iCloud only offers 5GB of free storage, if your contacts exceed this, you may have to purchase additional storage.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > your Profile > iCloud > turn on Contacts.
After this, make sure to have a steady internet connection to ensure that all your contacts will be synced.
On your Mac, open System Preferences > iCloud/Apple ID > Contacts.
Wait for the sync to finish then check your contacts.
Method 2: Sync iPhone Contacts to Mac via AirDrop
For transferring a couple of contacts, you may use AirDrop. This tool can wirelessly send different types of data including contacts from iPhone to Mac and vice versa.
In order for AirDrop to work, make sure that both devices are connected to a WIFI network, and near to each other. When these requirements are ready, follow the steps below.
On your Mac, turn on AirDrop by going to Finder > Go > Airdrop. Next, go to the “Allow me to be discovered by” tab then choose Everyone.
Grab your iPhone, open Contacts, pick the ones you want to transfer, hit the Share icon, and select AirDrop.
You will be required to set up and turn on the feature. Just follow the on-screen instructions to proceed.
When AirDrop is turned on, you should see the available devices on your screen. Locate and tap on the Mac avatar to begin the transfer.
Once it’s done, click the file on Mac to download them.
