How to Bypass FRP on Google Account (5 Easy Ways)

Last Updated: October 20th, 2023By Categories: Bypass FRP

Google FRP can be a boon or bane to Android users.

It can be beneficial in securing the phone from unwanted reset attempts, but it can also become an issue for those who have forgotten the linked Google Account. If you can relate to the latter circumstance, this article is for you.

Bypass FRP Google Account

FYI: What Is Google FRP

Before you proceed, you must know what Google FRP is and its importance. FRP or Factory Reset Protection has been added to Android devices (OS version 5.1 and above) to prevent unauthorized factory resets. It’s a security feature that protects your device and personal data.

In cases of phone theft, Google FRP makes you worry less about your phone. They won’t be able to bypass it unless they know the password of the linked Google account; the phone is Android 5.0 and below; or they have sophisticated hacker tools, which is pretty unlikely. Apart from that, FRP also blocks Custom Binary, which protects your phone from being modified without permission.

Why Do You Need to Bypass FRP on Your Phone

However, there are situations wherein such a solid security feature can be a troublesome obstacle.

  • You’ve hard reset your phone but when you turn it on, the FRP appears. You can’t get into the phone as you’ve forgotten the password to your Google account.
  • You want to reset your phone from Settings, but you can’t proceed because of the Google FRP login requirement.
  • Someone (most likely a family member) gave you a locked phone with a Google FRP login screen or you found/purchased it.

If you’re in one of these instances, and you can’t use your phone like usual, that’s frustrating. Luckily for you, there are methods to bypass FRP Google Account for good without the password.

Method 1: Bypass FRP Google Account via Forgot Email/Password

Of course! Google isn’t heartless when it comes to account recovery. You can always rely on the “Forgot password option”. If you’ve set up a recovery email or phone number on the Google account linked to the phone, you can easily bypass FRP in no time.

However, this can only work if the phone is yours to begin with and it’s your Google account that’s logged into it.

Step 1

Connect the phone to a WIFI. The phone will allow you to connect to a WIFI network after a reset. Just go back to the page next to the Welcome screen.

Step 2

Proceed to the Google FRP login screen, and tap on “Forgot email/password”.

Step 3

Then, provide the recovery email or phone number to confirm your identity.

Step 4

After that, Google will send a recovery link to either your recovery email or phone number. Click on it.

Step 5

You will be redirected to a secure webpage where you can create a new password for your Google account. Set up a new password and make sure it’s done.

Step 6

Finally, log in to the linked Gmail account on the FRP login screen with your new password.

But again, this can only work if you’ve set up a recovery email address or phone number beforehand. So, try to remember if you have a different Google account that you somehow linked to the one you’re trying to “forget password”. You may also check old emails and texts to see if you have a history of verification with the target account.

Another indirect way of bypassing FRP is to remove/sign out of your Google account before the reset. You can do this if you still have access to your phone’s Settings. All you need to do is disable it by removing the linked Google account.

Note that the location of the Accounts settings may vary depending on your phone brand. Regardless, the process is still the same.

If you have multiple Google accounts on your phone, we recommend removing them all just to be sure After following all the steps above, the account will be unsynced and you can try resetting the phone again. The FRP will not pop up before or after a factory reset.

Tip: Remove the Device from the Linked Account

If you don’t have access to Settings, you may do the opposite– remove the device from the linked account. However, this will only work if you have a secondary phone or a computer to which the linked Google account is still logged in. You may try looking for it on your Chrome or Microsoft Edge browser

On your Google account, just go to the Security tab and scroll down to “Your devices”. Then, tap the target phone on the list. Hit “Sign out” afterward. All you need to do after that is wait for 24-72 hours (make sure the phone is connected to WIFI) for Google to update the changes. Restart the phone and the FRP lock should be gone.

Method 4: Bypass FRP by Inserting A SIM Card

This method can trick your phone into setting up a different Google Account. However, this may not work for newer devices with better security features. So, if you have a phone that’s within 1-3 years since its release, this may not work for you. Nevertheless, it’s worth trying out. This works even when the phone is just reset.

Step 1

Put a SIM card into the target phone. Then, Use another phone to call the SIM card number and accept the call.

Step 2

On the screen, tap on the caller’s phone number and add it as a new contact. There, enter the number and save the contact. An option to save the contact to your Google account will appear.
